Adoreboard data analytics team is expanding and is seeking a Data Analyst to work with some of the world’s leading brands like Unilever and Three Ireland.

If you’re fascinated by consumer behaviour and interested in how data analytics can unearth insights on customer emotions and motivations then read on!

Emotion analysis helps brands make better decisions about how to improve customer experience. Your role as a data analyst will be providing Adoreboard’s clients with game-changing insights, uncovered with the help of our emotion analysis platform Emotics.

You’ll be required to take these insights and place them in context so our clients can understand the impact of what’s been unveiled. You will be communicating these insights to the client in-person or through webconference software.

You’ll have to be great at presenting ideas and information, be super organised, work well under pressure and have excellent communication skills.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications: Achieved at least a 2:1 in a degree combining quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g. Psychology, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics).

Desirable Criteria:

Experience using advanced analytics tools including R or MATLAB
Experience conducting analyses on unstructured as well as structured/semi-structured data (including appropriate data preprocessing, e.g. using SQL and programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Scala)

– Excellent knowledge of Excel
– Ability to combine quantitative and qualitative approaches to a piece of work
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Knowledge of statistical techniques (Regression, ANOVA, T-Test)
– Skilled at multi-tasking, self-motivation and attention to detail
– Ability to apply creative and flexible approaches toward a piece of work
– Ability to learn psychological theories (to underpin work and analysis) quickly
– Can work independently using own initiative as well as part of a team

Principal Software Engineer

Job Duties:

  • Working closely with Business Leadership to ensure a thorough understanding of product and solution requirements
  • Lead design of product roadmap features and functionality of Adoreboard Products and solutions
  • Involvement in the implementation stage of the development lifecycle using Java and various Java development tools
  • Contribute to the review of design documentation, code and test strategies
  • Act as Team and Technical Lead for the Belfast engineering team
  • Perform key roles within the Agile methodology
  • Development of other lesser experienced software engineering staff

Essential Criteria:

  • At least 5 years’ postgraduate software development experience involving all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Java development on a Unix Platform
  • Experience in multi-threaded server side Java programming
  • Proven experience in the use of Eclipse, Maven, JUnit tools
  • Comfortable with Agile Methodology and capable of performing different roles across sprints
  • Experience of continuous delivery and tools e.g. Jenkins
  • Knowledge/experience in the use of the Spring Framework
  • Experience of both relational and big data databases e.g. PostreSQL
  • Experience with Agile methodology & tools, test driven development
  • Experience with version control tools e.g. Git, Subversion, Perforce

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in various AWS cloud technologies such as Cloudformation, CloudWatch, RDS, Route 53, EC2, Container Service, Lamba, etc
  • Experience in developing in dynamic language e.g. Python, Shell script
  • Knowledge of Software as a Service architectures
  • Experience of test driven development
