Challenge
Behave has been working with TikTok since 2019, during which time they’ve helped the brand explode into the social media powerhouse we know today.
Their challenge was to identify and implement measures to increase TikTok’s user base in Europe, specifically the German market.
Solution
With Adoreboard, TikTok scraped social media and other online outlets for what young adult Germans were talking about. They found that an overwhelming proportion were interested in video games, particularly the Gamescom exhibition.
After evaluating the emotional responses around various drivers at the event, Behave plotted a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) to see how they could leverage Gamescom to increase the TikTok user base.
One of the key pain points that Behave identified was the long waiting times, and gamers missing out on certain events and influencers. To develop a rapport with gamers, TikTok provided an ‘in’ through live content and streaming pods to the moments missed, which fostered a positive experience and expanded their user base.
Using the Adoreboard platform along with behavioural science, Behave have guided TikTok to a user base increase of 1157.76% in Europe.
