THE ROLE
Role: Senior Software Engineer
Location: University Road, Belfast
JOB DUTIES
- Working closely with the CTO and Business Leadership to ensure a thorough understanding of software requirements
- Working closely with members of the architecture team to design various components and functionality of Adoreboard Products and solutions
- Involvement in the implementation stage of the development lifecycle using Java and various Java development tools
- Contribute to the review of design documentation, code and test strategies
- Act as Team and Technical Lead for the Belfast engineering team
- Perform key roles within the Agile methodology
- Development of other lesser experienced software engineering staff
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- At least 5 years postgraduate software development experience involving all phases of the software development lifecycle
- At least 3 years experience in Java development on a Unix Platform
- Experience in multi-threaded server side Java programming
- Proven experience in the use of Eclipse, Maven, JUnit tools
- Comfortable with Agile Methodology and capable of performing different roles across sprints
- Experience of continuous delivery and tools e.g. Jenkins
- Knowledge/experience in the use of the Spring Framework
- Experience of both relational and big data databases e.g. MySQL, PostreSQL
- Experience with Agile methodology & tools, test driven development
- Experience with version control tools e.g. Git, Subversion, Perforce
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Experience in various AWS cloud technologies such as Cloudformation, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Route 53, EC2, Container Service, Lamba, etc
- Experience in developing in dynamic language e.g. Python, Shell script
- Knowledge of Software As A Service architectures
- Experience of test driven development
